JAKARTA - The National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA) will immediately provide psychosocial assistance to toddlers named RPA (2).

RPA is the daughter of a married couple who died in a fatal accident on Jalan MT Haryono, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 25, yesterday.

"Yes, psychosocial assistance. We cooperate with the hospital because the hospital has the authority whether it can be visited or not," said Head of the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA), Arist Merdeka Sirait when contacted by VOI, Friday, May 27.

Currently, Komnas PA has coordinated with the Budhi Asih Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Cawang, East Jakarta.

"So we are still working with the Budhi Asih Hospital. This afternoon, the mitigation and advocacy team for the social rehabilitation of children from Komnas PA visited the hospital to see his condition (Rafania Putri Alfaqila)," he said.

The process for the period of psychosocial therapy that will be carried out by Komnas PA for victims is not yet certain how many days in the future. The reason is that Komnas PA is still waiting from the Budhi Asih Hospital.

"Depending on the victim, we can't determine 1 day, 2 days, 3 months, 4 months, we'll see first. The level of trauma," said Arist.

Arist further explained that the level of trauma usually interferes with working brain memory and so on.

"So for us, it cannot determine 1 week, 2 weeks, but we hope it will be fast, because that's the readiness of the victim," he said.

Meanwhile, for the number of assessment teams that will accompany the 2-year-old victim, Komnas PA will assign two people to the hospital whether the patient can be visited or not.

"Hospital policies usually cannot be disturbed, so it will take time," he said.
