DPP: Golkar Was Born As A Force Against The PKI

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Golkar Party HM Iqbal Wibisono emphasized that the Karya Group was born as one of the forces against the power of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI), which at that time was growing rapidly in the country.

After the event in Kebumen, Central Java, Monday, October 19, Iqbal Wibisono, through a WhatsApp conversation with Antara, said that Golkar, as an organization with the Pancasila ideology, certainly has a firm commitment to maintaining its ideology which at that time began to be undermined by anti -Pancasila, namely the PKI with all its ranks and forces.

Iqbal emphasized that the main task of the Golkar Party is to fight for the realization of the ideals of the nation and national goals by improving all aspects of life including ideology, politics, economy, religion, socio-culture, increasing human resources, education, and national defense and security.

When before the cadres of the Golkar Party DPD II, Kebumen Regency, who participated in Political Education and Election Winning Strategies in the Second Java Region, covering Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Iqbal revealed again the background of Golkar's birth on October 20, 1964.

He argued that Golkar was born from the Joint Secretary (Sekber) of Golkar at the end of the Old Order era. In fact, Golkar experienced 32 years of glory during the New Order era.

"During the 32 years in power under HM Soeharto, Golkar has always won in general elections (elections), starting from 1971 to 1997," said Iqbal who is also the head of the Central Java and Yogyakarta Golkar Party DPP election victories.

Furthermore, it experienced ups and downs in the Reform Order. During this period, the Golkar Party experienced a decline, or under the PDIP in the 1999 Election, then won again in the 2004 Election during the leadership of Akbar Tanjung.

Although only able to last for a short period of time, in the 2009 Election, the Golkar Party was in second place after the Democrat Party, which is the party of the sixth president of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. After the 2009 elections, the Golkar Party was always in second place.

"As a political party, it should be hoped that the next election, in 2024, will be able to win the legislative election and the Indonesian presidential election," Iqbal said.

To win every political contestation, be it the regional elections, the legislative elections and the 2024 presidential election, said Iqbal, General Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto always said that to win the contest in 2024, the Golkar Party must win in every election.

Thus, said Iqbal, the election victory this year is the main asset to win the legislative and presidential elections in 2024.

"For that, there is no day without hard work. In that hard work, Golkar Party cadres must be united, solid, strong, and always close to the people indiscriminately," said an alumnus of the Doctoral Program (S-3) of Law, Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University ( Undip) this.

Therefore, he invited the cadres and sympathizers of the Golkar Party in Kebumen to win the participants of the Kebumen Regent and Deputy Regent Election from the party bearing the banyan tree on December 9, 2020.

"The Golkar candidate must win and the victory is an achievement for the party to become bigger and more beneficial for the people at large," said Iqbal in front of participants in Political Education and Election Strategy for Election in Java II Region.
