Before leaving for Kulon Progo, Buya Syafii's body is currently buried at the Gedhe Kauman Mosque, Yogyakarta.

Buya Syafii had been treated at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, Sleman Regency, since May 14, 2022 due to shortness of breath.
