PALEMBANG - Deputy Chair III of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Palembang City, South Sumatra, Azhari Haris died at the age of 30.

Azhari Haris died on Wednesday, May 25, at around 23.20 WIB due to illness, said Deputy Chair I of the Palembang City DPRD, Adzanu Gentar Nusantara, in a short message received in Palembang, Thursday, May 26.

"The deceased was sick and was treated for 7 days at the RSMH (Mohamad Hoesin Hospital) Palembang," he added, quoted from Antara.

The body was buried at the Kebun Bunga Public Cemetery (TPU), Sukarami, Palembang, on Thursday afternoon at 13:27 WIB.

Hundreds of people were seen at the burial site, ranging from family, co-workers, and the general public to escort the members of the Palembang DPRD for the 2019-2024 period from the National Mandate Party (PAN) for the Electoral District (Dapil) II Palembang to their final resting place.

In addition, South Sumatra and national political figures were also present, namely the Regent of Empat Lawang Regency, Joncik Muhamad, the Regent of Ogan Komering Ilir Iskandar, and the Coordinating Minister for the Indonesian Economy for the 2009-2014 period Hatta Rajasa.

The funeral procession took place solemnly accompanied by the reading of prayers by the scholars of Palembang City.

"Representing the extended family and wife of the deceased, we convey that if there is an error, either in words or actions that are unpleasant from the deceased, we apologize. If there is something that cannot be conveyed, we ask that you be sincere and forgive what was not resolved. May the deeds of worship be accepted. Allah SWT," said Hatta Rajasa at the funeral.
