Police Investigate Actions Of Tawuran Middle School Students Bringing Sharp Weapons In Ciracas

JAKARTA - Two groups of junior high school students were involved in a brawl using sharp weapons on Jalan Raya Centek, Ciracas, East Jakarta. Ciracas Police Chief Kompol Jupriono confirmed the action.

"Yes, so it's a student of SMP 210 Ciracas. So (brawl) is the same as those who pass, it can be any child. There are those who pass, are thrown, chased," said Kompol Jupriono, Wednesday, May 25.

The police chief confirmed that no one was injured in the brawl. From the results of the temporary investigation, the brawl between groups of students was carried out for no apparent reason.

"There is no root cause of the problem. Yesterday's incident was around 1 pm," he said.

After the video went viral on social media, the Ciracas Police also visited the location of the junior high school involved in the brawl to collect data on the students recorded in the video.

"From the data, we get the address, later we will visit their houses. If there is (Sajam) we will continue to follow up, we will be persuasive," he explained.

Kompol Jupriono said the students involved in the brawl were underage. Currently, the data collection process is still underway.

"They are on average grade 2 junior high school or grade 8," he said.
