Komjak Will Examine The South Jakarta Prosecutor's Office About The Banquet For The Two Generals

JAKARTA - Head of South Jakarta District Attorney (Kejari) Anang Supriatna is said to have given special treatment to two suspects in the bribery case of red notice removal, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigjen Prasetyo Utomo. They both get a banquet from Anang.

The Prosecutor's Commission (Komjak) will clarify this. Anang Supriatna will be questioned regarding this matter.

"As soon as possible (the examination) so that the public can get a fast and accurate response," said Chairman of Komjak Barita Simanjuntak to VOI , Monday, October 19.

Barita said, there shouldn't be any special treatment like this. This is because everyone has the same rights and obligations before the law.

"Nothing is privileged based on the principle of equlity before the law and due process of law ," he said.

Barita emphasized that special treatment in the form of banquets is a violation. However, when referring to Anang's confession, who said that he only gave food to the two suspects, this was not a violation.

"Not (a violation) especially when lunch time arrives," he said.

Providing food to the suspect is mandatory because it is stated in the regulations. If they are not given food, the officer will be subject to sanctions.

"In fact, it is mandatory for every detainee or defendant to comply with the standards, of course, it is only natural," he said.

The suspicion of preferential treatment to the two suspects in the alleged red notice bribery case emerged when lawyer Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo, Petrus Bala Pattyona, uploaded a photo showing the two suspects eating in a room.

The suspicion of special treatment was given because they saw unusual food given to the tahaman in front of them. Moreover, there are several plates of cakes on the dining table.
