SAMARINDA - The female perpetrator with the initials DM (28) who sold beauty products under the HB Racik Inces brand was arrested by the Samarinda City Resort Police (Polresta). DM was involved in a criminal case of selling beauty equipment without a distribution permit from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

"The method is that the person concerned makes a beauty product by mixing several purchased ingredients, then branding and trading them, but the goods are not in accordance with health standards or have a permit from BPOM," said the Samarinda Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Ary Fadli in Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 24.

Ary said DM was secured by the Special Economic Unit (Exus) of the Samarinda Police Satreskrim on Friday, May 20. The perpetrator was arrested by the Crime Investigation Unit at his residence in the Bengkuring area, Gang Durian, Sempaja Village.

"This disclosure begins with complaints from the public for one of the cosmetic products for which there are no licensing requirements related to BPOM," he said.

Some of the victims who reported claimed to have skin irritation. Based on this information, the Satreskrim finally carried out an investigation, whether it was an investigation through social media or in the field. Then, continued Ary, in producing these cosmetic tools, the perpetrator did it alone at his home and then traded through social media and several resellers.

"The results of the development are at several points, namely in Tenggarong, Samarinnda, Sanga-Sanga, Bontang, Balikpapan, even to Sulawesi," he said.

As for the turnover per month, based on his calculations, the perpetrators get a profit of Rp. 3 million or a month.

Based on the perpetrator's confession, he has carried out the action from November 2021 based on personal experience.

"Previously he was also involved in the cosmetic field. Maybe from there he saw, then tried to mix, mix, it turned out that it might be suitable and finally traded," he said.

Kapolresta said that the sale was divided into two, namely for the small size for Rp. 120,000, while for the large size Rp. 200,000.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 197 in conjunction with Article 106 paragraphs 1 and 2 / paragraph 11 Article 60 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia / Number 11 of 2020 regarding work creation and Article 62 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph 1 letters A or G and J / Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection with a threat of 5 years in prison.
