Heartache, 21-year-old Man In Mataram Sends Half-naked Video Of His Ex-girlfriend

MATARAM - The Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, is handling the case of a teenager with the initials AHP (21) suspected of sending immoral video footage of his ex-girlfriend.

Kasatreskrim Polresta Mataram Kompol Kadek Adi Budi Astawa said this case began with a report from AHP's ex-girlfriend on March 24, 2022.

"At that time, the complainant came to complain about the video footage of him being bare-chested, in which the person who sent it was AHP, the ex-girlfriend of the complainant," said Kadek Adi in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, May 24.

Although the immoral video footage was only sent to the victim via WhatsApp Messenger social media, Kadek Adi confirmed from the results of the case that AHP's actions had fulfilled the elements of the alleged criminal offense regulated in the Electronic Information and Transaction Law.

"Indeed, the sending is still personal, but from the results of the case, AHP's actions have fulfilled the element of distributing electronic data that has a moral content," he said.

Therefore, AHP has now been named a suspect under the suspicion of Article 27 paragraph 1 Juncto Article 45 paragraph 1 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19/2016 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11/2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE).

"According to the criminal provisions regulated in Article 45 paragraph 1, the suspect in this case is threatened with imprisonment for a maximum of 6 years and a fine of Rp. 1 billion," he said.

In this case, evidence of AHP's determination as a suspect was confiscated from the cloned conversation between AHP and the victim via WhatsApp Messenger, as well as the victim's and AHP's cell phones.

"For the suspect's motive for doing this because he felt hurt by the victim and the initiative wanted to humiliate the victim by taking an immoral video that he (AHP) recorded using the victim's cellphone (mobile phone) while still dating," he said.
