JAKARTA - The National Police will hold Operation Mantap Brata to secure the simultaneous 2024 General Election (Election) and Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

This security scheme was determined after a meeting between the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"Later on, the National Police will hold Operation Mantap Brata from the Headquarters level to the ranks of the Polres," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when confirmed, Tuesday, May 24.

In the security scheme, the National Police will also coordinate with other parties such as the TNI, Bawaslu, and the Regional Government (Pemda).

Security is carried out because it does not rule out the possibility of interference. In fact, the types of disturbances or problems that occur are usually different in each region.

"The way to act is to anticipate potential disturbances so that all stages of the 2024 General Election, including the Presidential, Legislative, and Regional Elections can run safely, smoothly, democratically and while still paying attention to the prokes," said Dedi.
