Police Raided House For Meth And Ecstasy Dealers In West Jakarta

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police have named I and R as suspects in the case of drug trafficking and thousands of ecstasy operating in the West Jakarta and Central Jakarta areas.

"We arrested the suspect with the initials I, aged 36, in the Petojo area, Central Jakarta, and R alias K, aged 40, who was arrested at the Tambora Five Bridge, West Jakarta," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Pasma Royce, Monday, May 23.

Pasma Royce explained that the initial arrest stemmed from a public report related to methamphetamine trafficking activities carried out in the Jakarta area.

Based on this information, the police immediately stalked I and monitored his every activity. Officers also arrested I at his home in the Petojo area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 18.

"When we searched, we found three medium-sized plastic packages containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 35.92 grams," said Pasma Royce.

The result of development I, the police found another suspect with the initials R who was at that time in the Tambora area, West Jakarta. R was arrested in Tambora on the same day, precisely at 19.30 WIB.

From R's hands, the police found evidence in the form of seven plastic clips containing methamphetamine weighing 3,292 grams and 43 plastic bags containing 11,022 ecstasy pills weighing 4,135 grams.

Currently, Pasma Royce said officers were investigating the origin of the illicit goods and tracing the circulation of the drugs.

"We will also examine the two suspects to find out more about their roles," he said.

The two suspects were also charged with the perpetrators of Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
