West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi: ASN Don't Be Village-Old, Must Improve Human Resources

PADANG - West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi reminded the state civil apparatus (ASN) consisting of civil servants and PPPKs that they should not be stodgy or old-fashioned and uneducated because their role is needed to achieve the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.

"ASN must be oriented to continuously improve HR (human resources) until they are experts in their respective fields of work. Don't be stodgy or old-fashioned and uneducated," said the Governor when submitting a decree (SK) for prospective civil servants (CPNS) and government employees. with a work agreement (PPPK) in the hall of the West Sumatra Governor's office, Padang reported by Antara, Monday, May 23.

Mahyeldi said that this tacky behavior is far from the ASN paradigm that the government wants, namely as a public servant as well as glue and unifying the nation.

ASN must be able to contribute to realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045, which is to become one of the five major countries in the world.

"How can you contribute if your human resources are mediocre or feel they have to be served, not as public servants? This paradigm of thought must be instilled since I was a civil servant before becoming a civil servant," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Sumatra BKD, Ahmad Zakri, said that after receiving the CPNS decree, there was still a process that had to be passed to become a 100 percent civil servant, namely pre-service training.

"His status as a civil servant could fall if he did not pass the pre-service training or made mistakes that could not be tolerated according to the rules," he said.

At this moment, a decree was handed over for 397 CPNS and a decree for 411 PPPK. Especially for PPPK, some are still being submitted because some are still in the process at the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

One of the inaugurated CPNS, Alif said the submission of the decree was the first step to serve the country. He will give all the ability to provide the best service to the community.

According to the governor's direction, he also wants to continue his education to the master's level if he gets a permit so that he can provide more benefits for the region.
