JAKARTA - The Investigative Team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has secured various documents regarding the alleged corruption case of giving gifts or promises related to the approval of the principle permit for the construction of a retail branch in Ambon City with the suspect of inactive Ambon Mayor Richard Louhenapessy.

"The investigative team has completed carrying out forced searches at several locations in the Ambon city area," said the acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement, Monday, May 23.

The locations are the Ambon City Deputy Mayor's office, the Ambon City Government Bappeda Office, the Ambon City Government PUPR Headquarters residence, and the Ambon City Government Bappeda Head's residence.

"From the 4 locations referred to, various evidences were found and secured, including various documents with special coded hand notes which are strongly suspected to be related to the case," said Ali Fikri.

Ali said that the analysis and confiscation of the findings of the various documents was immediately carried out to be re-confirmed to the parties who were called as witnesses, including the suspects.

In this case, the KPK named Ambon Mayor Richard Louhenapessy as a suspect in the alleged corruption crime of giving gifts or promises related to the approval of the principle permit for the 2020 retail branch construction in Ambon City and receiving gratuities.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has also named the Ambon City Government Leadership Administrative Staff Andrew Erin Hehanussa and Ambon City Alfamidi employee Amri as suspects.

Richard is suspected of receiving bribes of around Rp. 500 million from Amri in relation to the construction agreement for 20 Alfamidi outlets in Ambon City.
