JAKARTA - The former spokesperson for the COVID-19 task force and chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Health Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS), Achmad Yurianto, has died. He died due to illness.

"Died of illness," said BPJS Kesehatan Head of Public Relations M. Iqbal Anas Ma'ruf when confirmed, Saturday, May 21.

However, it did not specify the disease that caused Achmad Yurianto to return to the Creator. Iqbal only emphasized that all ranks of BPJS are sorry for the death of the role model.

"The entire Board of Directors, Supervisory Board and BPJS Health Ambassadors are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Achmad Yurianto," he said.

"Thank you for all his services and dedication to BPJS Kesehatan," continued Iqbal.

However, some time ago Achmad Yurianto was known to have been treated at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Central Jakarta. He is said to have colon cancer.
