Entering The Category Of Region With The Highest Stunting In Bengkulu Province, BOK Funds In Mukomuko Increase 100 Percent

MUKOMUKO - The Health Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu said, the health operational assistance fund (BOK) to prevent stunting (stunting) in infants under five years (toddlers) rose 100 percent, from Rp 500 million in 2021 to Rp 1 billion in 2022.

"The Health Center's BOK funds in 2022 rose from Rp. 13.2 billion to Rp. 13.8 billion. Funds for stunting prevention in toddlers rose 100 percent from Rp. 500 million to Rp. 1 billion," said BOK Program Manager, Mukomuko District Health Office Secretariat, Juni Triono in Mukomuko, Antara , Friday, May 20.

According to him, the BOK fund for stunting prevention in toddlers this year has increased because the stunting rate in this area is the highest in Bengkulu Province. Based on data from the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office in 2021, the highest stunting rate in this province is in Mukomuko Regency, which is 10.38 percent.

Because the BOK funds for stunting prevention in this area have increased, so the form of activities in order to prevent stunted babies this year is different from the previous year.

"In the past, Puskesmas officers were looking for cases, now there are intervention activities for handling cases to prevention, so there are many activities," he said.

Meanwhile, the BOK funds for handling COVID-19 this year decreased from 40 percent to 12 percent.

In addition, there is the addition of new activities sourced from BOK funds, namely Rubella immunization for children at the level of educational institutions, from early childhood to elementary school.

He said the majority of the Puskesmas BOK funds in this area were used for essential activities, such as providing additional food by 60 percent and handling COVID-19 by 40 percent.

The realization of the use of the Mukomuko District Health Center BOK funds from January to March 2022, amounted to 12 percent of the total allocation of Rp. 13.8 billion.

The realization of the use of BOK funds was low because there were not many health service activities at the Puskesmas in the first quarter, many activities began in the third to fourth quarters.
