JAKARTA - Violence against children has occurred again. In South Tangerang, a 16-year-old boy became a victim of abuse by his friends. The victim suffered burns on his tongue due to being burned by cigarettes, and several other body parts were injured. The action was recorded on the victim's cellphone and the video was used as a WhatsApp status by the victim. The victim's mother was shocked to see her child being abused. Because she did not accept that her child was being abused, the mother reported the incident to the police. A total of 8 people were arrested, 4 of whom were under the age of 12. Due to the involvement of minors, the police did not arrest the perpetrators. This case can serve as an example and a lesson for parents to provide extra supervision.
