Schools In Gunung Kidul Still Require To Wear Masks In Class

JAKARTA - The Education Office of Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, still requires the use of masks in the school environment. Even though there has been a policy of easing the use of masks in open areas.

"Until now, policies in schools are still implementing strict health protocols, including the use of masks. We still require educators and students to use masks during their activities at school," said Secretary of the Gunung Kidul Education Office (Disdik) Winarno in Gunung Kidul, Thursday, May 19. .

He said the Gunung Kidul Education Office was still waiting for official instructions regarding the details of the implementation of the easing of the use of masks from the Gunung Kidul COVID-19 Task Force. After receiving official instructions, his party will immediately follow up on the policy.

"We are waiting for directions from the Gunung Kidul COVID-19 Task Force regarding the easing of this mask," he said as quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Wonosari 2 State Junior High School (SMP) Agus Maryanto also said that there had been no relaxation regarding the use of masks in schools. Until now, all students and teachers are still required to wear masks.

He referred to the president's explanation circulating that the easing of the use of masks was only carried out in open spaces. While learning activities are mostly carried out in closed rooms, namely in classrooms.

"We are still sticking to the policy of wearing masks while at school," he said.
