Jokowi Orders Law Enforcers To Process 'Cheating Players' Cooking Oil Distribution And Production

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered law enforcement officials to strictly process the perpetrators of misappropriation of distribution and production of cooking oil. Jokowi called for anyone who cheated and took advantage of himself to be brought to justice.

"Regarding the allegations and irregularities in the distribution and production of cooking oil, I have ordered our legal apparatus to continue to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators," Jokowi said in a video caption posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Thursday, May 19.

He did not want anyone to trouble the community for their own benefit. Jokowi asked all these parties to be pursued.

"I don't want anyone playing games that will make it difficult and detrimental to the people," he said.

Jokowi also said that monitoring of the availability and price of cooking oil will continue to be carried out in the future. Moreover, the export faucet has started to open on Monday, May 23.

Not only that, the government will make improvements in the management agency for palm oil plantation funds. The goal is that the dynamics of domestic cooking oil supply and prices can be resolved easily.

"Institutionally, the government will revamp and improve procedures at the oil palm plantation fund management agency so that it continues to be simplified and facilitated. To be more adaptive, a solution to the dynamics of supply and domestic oil prices," he said.

"So that people can be protected and their needs met," concluded Jokowi.
