Anticipating The Demonstration Against The Job Creation Law, The Police Close The Road To The Merdeka Palace

JAKARTA - Officers from the Directorate of Traffic at Polda Metro Jaya have closed access roads leading to Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, since Thursday night, in anticipation of the rejection of the Job Creation Law.

"The closure will start at 23.00 WIB," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Police Senior Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, October 16.

Sambodo said police officers closed Jalan Medan West Medan, Harmoni, Veteran 3, and the Gambir turn towards the Palace.

The officers also prepared to divert some of the flow of vehicles to avoid traffic congestion during the Student Executive Board (BEM) around the Merdeka Palace on Friday (16/10).

"This is situational following conditions in the field," said Sambodo.

Traffic flow diversion routes prepared by the Metro Jaya Traffic Police in the area around the Merdeka Palace:

1. The traffic flow from Jalan Veteran Raya leading to Jalan Veteran III is straightened to Traffic Light Harmoni.

2. The traffic flow from Jalan Merdeka Timur going to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara is diverted to the right onto Jalan Perwira.

3. The flow of traffic from Jalan Ridwan Rais going to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan is straightened to Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur.

4. The traffic flow from Jalan MH Thamrin which will lead to the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue is diverted to the left or right of Jalan Kebon Sirih.

5. The traffic flow from Jalan Abdul Muis which will turn left to Jalan Budi Kemulia is straightened to Jalan Fachrudin and the traffic flow from Jalan Fachrudin which will turn right to Jalan Budi Kemulia is straightened to Jalan Abdul Muis.

6. The traffic flow from Jalan Tanah Abang II which will go straight to Jalan Museum is turned left or right, the traffic flow from Jalan Majapahit which will turn left to Jalan Museum is straightened to Jalan Abdul Muis and the traffic flow from Jalan Abdul Muis those who will turn right onto Jalan Museum are aligned to Jalan Majapahit.

7. The traffic flow from Jalan Hayam Wuruk which will go straight to Jalan Majapahit will turn left to Jalan Juanda and the traffic flow from Jalan Veteran Raya which will turn left to Jalan Majapahit will be straightened to Jalan Suryo Pranoto or turn right on Jalan Gajah Mada.
