Surabaya Mayor Candidate's Promise Eri Cahyadi Adds Incentives For TPQ Teachers

SURABAYA - Candidate for mayor of Surabaya number 1, Eri Cahyadi, promised to increase incentives for religious teachers such as the Al-Quran Education Park (TPQ) to IDR 500 thousand per month. Currently, the Surabaya City Government is providing an incentive of IDR 400 thousand per month.

"For TPQ teachers, later we will increase it to Rp. 500 thousand per month. That is a form of attention to those who devote themselves to shaping the character of citizens with moral character. Likewise religious teachers of all religions will receive the same attention," said Eri while attending the declaration of support. from the teachers reciting TPA / TPQ and Khotmil Quran at the PDI Perjuangan DPC office in Surabaya, Thursday, October 15.

The former Head of the City Planning and Development Agency (Bappeko) said, Surabaya will be a comfortable and safe city when its citizens have good morals. According to Eri, good morals need to be formed since they were children so that they will be imprinted since childhood.

"Who is the most fitting to become a true leader? Namely those who are closest to society and the children. One of them is the Koran teachers. These are the ones who form the moral character of Surabaya children from a religious perspective. We will pay attention to him, even though he is also sincere in teaching him, "he said.

In addition, Eri talked about the construction of infrastructure work in Kota Pahlawan which is almost completed. Therefore, Eri will make the human resource development program (HR) a priority.

"My hope is that if the next generation has good morals, when they become leaders later on a religious basis, it is definitely for the interests of the people not for personal interests," he said.

Meanwhile, the coordinator of Wadah Guru Ngaji Surabaya (Wak Gus), Muhammad Alfan, said support for the Eri Cahyadi-Armuji pair was given based on deliberation. Eri-Armuji is considered capable of continuing the virtues of the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini.

"We have agreed and unanimous determination to support Eri Cahyadi. He has committed to continue the kindness of Mrs. Risma. If something good is continued, the results will be better. That's why the Koran teachers who are members of Wak Gus support Eri-Armuji," he said.
