TANGERANG – A number of buildings at the Assyzahu Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Legok, Tangerang Regency were damaged by a landslide after heavy rains hit the area.

The Head of Emergency and Logistics of BPBD, Abdul Munir, said the incident occurred on Wednesday, May 18, in the afternoon. It is known because of the heavy rain that hit the location.

"Because of the heavy rain since the afternoon, there was a landslide at the Assyzahu Islamic boarding school," Abdul said in his statement, Thursday, May 19.

On that occasion, he made sure there were no casualties. However, only a few buildings were damaged.

"There were no casualties, only right behind the Assyzahu Islamic Boarding School there was a shift in the soil or a landslide which was used as a place to wash students' clothes," he said.

A total of five Tangerang Regency firefighters rushed to the location to clean up the damaged debris.

"There are five members. (They) cleaned up the debris in the affected buildings," he concluded.
