Settlements And Roads In Tangerang Flood After Heavy Rain

TANGERANG - A number of residential areas and several roads in Tangerang Regency, Banten, were inundated by floods due to heavy rains that flushed the local area from noon to late afternoon.

The heavy rain that lasted for a long time had an impact on drainage and the river overflowed to inundate several residential areas and local roads.

A number of residential areas that were flooded include Dasana Indah Housing, Bojong Nangka and Bencongan Karawaci Housing, Kelapa Dua District.

Then, for the road itself, it occurs in the Pasir Gadung area, Cikupa District with an average water level of 30 to 40 centimeters.

From a number of puddles that inundated a number of residential areas and roads, the traffic flow experienced a long traffic jam. And not a few vehicles that cross it broke down.

The head of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ujat Sudrajat in Tangerang, Wednesday said that the flooding that hit a number of residential areas and roads in the area would only temporarily inundate.

"Because of the heavy rain this afternoon, the puddle is only temporary, it won't take long, it will quickly recede. But we are still monitoring its progress," he said.

Currently, his party cannot provide details regarding the exact number of houses affected by the flood.

"We are still waiting for reports from members in the field. So for the data there is no certainty how many houses are affected," he said.

He revealed that the situation and condition of several points that were informed of being inundated by the flood had now receded and returned to normal.

"According to the report from the Kelapa Camat, two of the waters have receded since this afternoon. But if for example the flood from the overflowing river was not from the impact of the rain, it might still be inundated until now," he said.
