Allegedly Spreading Hate Speech, OUR Jumhur Hidayat Is Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - Officials of the Coalition for the Action to Save Indonesia (WE), Jumhur Hidayat, are officially named a suspect by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police in a case of allegedly spreading hate speech and incitement.

Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono said that his party arrested and made Jumhur Hidayat a suspect due to uploads on social media. Where on his Twitter account, Jumhur said UU only for primitive people.

"JH on my twitter wrote, one of which is the Law for primitive investors from China (People's Republic of China) and greedy businessmen," Argo told reporters, Thursday, October 15.

According to him, the upload of the former Head of BNP2TKI was included in the criminal act of spreading fake news with the elements of SARA. Investigators, he said, had already secured several pieces of evidence. Among other things, hard disks, ipads, and banners.

For his actions, Jumhur was charged with Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45 A paragraph (2) of the ITE Law, and Article 14 paragraph (1) and (2), Article 15 number 1 of 1946.

"The threat of a sentence of 10 years," he said.

Meanwhile, Bareskrim Polri arrested Jumhur Hidayat at his home in Cipete, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 13. In addition, Bareskrim Polri also arrested seven people who are members of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (WE). They were secured in Jakarta and Medan, North Sumatra.

The identities of the four people who were arrested in Medan, namely, Juliana, Devi, Wahyu Rasari Putri, and Khairi Amri, who are the Chair of KAMI Medan.

Meanwhile, those arrested in Jakarta were members of the US Executive Committee, namely Syahganda Nainggolan, Anton Permana, and former PKS legislative candidate, Kingkin Anida.
