Defending UAS, Fahri Hamzah To The Singaporean Government: A Seupil Country Just Belagu!

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party DPN, Fahri Hamzah, criticized the Singapore government's action to ban Ustaz Abdul Somad alias UAS from entering his country.

The track record of UAS lectures demeaning adherents of other religions is one of the reasons the famous preacher was not allowed to enter Singapore. For this treatment, Fahri was furious and brought up the extent of the state of Singapore.

"The country is just as ugly as hell...!" Fahri said, quoted from his Twitter account, @Fahrihamzah, Wednesday 18 May.

Fahri Hamzah further explained why he was angry with Sigapura's actions against UAS. Still on his Twitter account, the former Deputy Speaker of the DPR said that crossing countries is the right of everyone, which is regulated in the ASEAN statutes.

"In a democracy, crossing countries is a human right. The ASEAN Statutes also regulate that. That's why there is no need for a visa.. The state doesn't need to explain why someone is accepted because it's a RIGHT. )," explained Fahri.

Fahri said the international rules had been adopted by law in Indonesia so that everyone has the right to cross the country. Even at some immigration gates, technology is used so that there is no need for officers to meet with border crossers.

"When the immigration law No. 6 of 2011, Indonesia has implemented all international conventions and rules that uphold human rights in immigration," he said.

Fahri also flicked the Singapore Immigration officer who was busy dealing with lecture content and someone's political views. He emphasized that the main task of Immigration officers is to facilitate friendship between humans by only guarding the border and ensuring the completeness of documents for travellers.

"In modern immigration principles, the task of the immigration border guard is only to ensure the completeness of the documents. He does not check the lectures or political views of people, let alone those delivered at the scientific assembly. So the border just uses fingerprints or facial recognition," he said.

"In the principle of modern immigration, immigration services actually facilitate friendship between human beings who are in one country and those in other countries. The state does not need to have excessive anxiety because basically people to people contact cannot be avoided," he continued.
