JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo made a video call with Indonesian cyclists who succeeded in donating gold and silver at the Vietnam SEA Games.

The National Police Chief, who is also the General Chair of the Indonesian Sports Bike Association (PB ISSI) elected in April 2021, conveyed his happiness and gratitude directly through a video call to the cycling athletes, Monday.

"Congratulations on your achievement. Thank you for getting the gold medal and raising the Red and White Flag at the Hanoi SEA Games," said Sigit on his video call, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 16.

According to the National Police Chief, Indonesian cyclists have increased their achievements compared to last year. This makes him and of course the Indonesian people proud.

"There is an increase from last year's gold medal, congratulations. I think we are all very proud in Indonesia. Thank you to all the teams that joined including the officials, coaches and team doctors as well as other colleagues. I think this is a gift for all of us, " he said.

Indonesian cyclist Tiara Prastika Andini donated gold for Indonesia after winning the MTB Downhill class. Meanwhile, Athlete Andy Prayoga won a silver medal in the same category.

Sigit hopes that the achievements made by Indonesian cyclists can inspire other athletes to win other categories at the Vietnam Sea Games.

Currently, there are 15 Indonesian athletes still competing for medals in the MTB and Road Race categories which will take place from 15 to 22 May.

"I think this is a good start and hopefully all other friends will follow. We from Indonesia pray for all of them to get the same achievement," said Sigit.

Besides congratulating him, Sigit also took the time to talk to athletes, coaches and officials, asking their hopes and feelings after winning the match.

In the video call conversation, athlete Tiara Prastika Andini conveyed her appreciation to the National Police Chief who has given full support to all Indonesian cyclists.

"Thank you for the support so far, so that the national training can continue and thank you for the support, sir," said Tiara.

Sigit showed his concern, asking the health condition of Tiara and other athletes, as well as how the type of food in Vietnam is suitable for athletes.

The National Police Chief had joked to send fried rice to athletes in Vietnam. "To eat there is not suitable?" asked Sigit.

"Thank God it fits, sir," replied Tiara.

"What about? Need to send fried rice from here?" said Sigit jokingly.

Meanwhile, athlete Andy Prayoga hopes that the bicycle sport in Indonesia can be more advanced and compete in even bigger events in the future.

In fact, Andy also expressed his desire to become a police officer.

"Hopefully we can go further, sir, and bicycle racing can be sent to race in Europe and world class. And I want to be a police officer, sir," said Andy.

Sigit also agrees with Andy's hopes, and is ready to support the hopes of all athletes.

"It fits. Okay, we pay attention. The important thing is that the task is to continue to be enthusiastic and support friends," said Sigit.
