JAKARTA - The visit of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil or familiarly called Kang Emil to the General Chair of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasa was considered deliberately carried out after the formation of the United Indonesia Coalition.

This assessment came from the researcher as well as the Executive Director of the Kunto Coffee Shop Survey Institute, Adi Wibowo. According to him, Kang Emil is casting nets so that he can be promoted in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) from the new coalition.

"I don't think it was a coincidence that Ridwan Kamil started a safari to political parties because yesterday a new coalition emerged between PAN, Golkar, PPP," Kunto told VOI, Monday, May 16.

He also said that Emil had the opportunity to be proposed as a candidate from the coalition. However, there is some homework to do, one of which is proving his electability.

Kang Emil, continued Kunto, must have high electability in various regions not only in West Java to be promoted.

"In my opinion, yes, the chance is that RK's opportunity is still there. But how much does it have to be proven by RK through an electability survey and then support from many regions, not only West Java. His homework is there," he said.

Kunto believes that Ridwan Kamil can do his homework well. Moreover, he will have until 2023 to come.

"He still has time until 2023, September for the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates. That's in my opinion," he said.

There are a number of things that Emil can do to boost his electability. One of them, stay creative.

Moreover, Emil is considered to be one of the regional heads who was actually creative while serving as Mayor of Bandung. However, his creativity has not been seen in the community since he led the West Java area.

"Maybe because his job as governor sucked. So in my opinion, what should be encouraged is his creative side again," concluded Kunto.
