BOGOR - Bogor District Health Office (Dinkes), West Java, distributed investigation forms to all puskesmas and hospitals to detect acute hepatitis for people with hepatitis symptoms.

"There is an investigation form, we will investigate all those with similar symptoms. So that later the type of hepatitis will be known," said Head of the Bogor District Health Office, Mike Kaltarina, as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 13.

According to him, the symptoms of acute hepatitis are almost similar to those of Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. Namely, fever accompanied by diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Then another indicator is if the SGPT or Serum Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase and SGOT or Serum Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase numbers are above 500.

"That's something to watch out for, especially for people who have toddlers. Symptoms to watch out for include yellowing of the eyes and skin, seizures and decreased consciousness," he said.

Mike appealed, if the public found the initial symptoms, to take the patient to the nearest health center or hospital to get further help and not wait for further symptoms to appear.

“Advanced symptoms are like the skin and eyes are starting to turn yellow. So that it is not too late to treat the suspected acute hepatitis disease,” said Mike.

He advised the public to implement clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS), especially diligently washing hands with soap which can prevent the transmission of various diseases.

Mike confirmed that the Bogor District Health Office had formed a PE (epidemiological investigation) team. Moreover, Bogor Regency is directly adjacent to DKI Jakarta and several other areas.

"The team will later carry out tracing if there are reports from the public. Because it must be traced if found, "he said.
