Mukomuko District Receives Additional 1,500 Doses Of Rabies Vaccine For Dogs, Cats And Monkeys

MUKOMUKO - The Agriculture Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, received an additional 1,500 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs, cats and monkeys from the provincial government.

"We received an additional 1,500 doses of vaccine to prevent rabies in this area," said Mukomuko District Agriculture Service Head of Livestock and Animal Health, Fitriani Ilyas in a statement at Mukomuko, Antara, Friday, May 13.

The Mukomuko Agriculture Service previously received assistance as much as 400 doses of rabies vaccine for local residents' dogs, cats and monkeys from the Bengkulu Provincial Government.

A total of 400 doses of the vaccine to prevent dogs, cats and monkeys from being attacked by rabies have been given to animals belonging to residents spread across 15 sub-districts in this area.

Then the agency received an additional 1,500 doses of rabies vaccine so that the total vaccine received was 1,900 doses. "The vaccine assistance to prevent rabies does not reach 2,000 doses because the vaccine is shared with districts/cities in Bengkulu Province," he said.

He said the local provincial government added vaccines to prevent rabies for a number of regencies bordering North Bengkulu Regency which became a "pilot project" or a pilot project to make North Bengkulu Regency free of rabies.

Mukomuko Regency is bordered by North Bengkulu Regency so that this district participates in helping the success of North Bengkulu Regency being free of rabies.

"Of the 1,500 doses of vaccine to prevent rabies received by Mukomuko Regency, the most were given to Ipuh District because it borders North Bengkulu Regency," he said.
