Ragunan Still Provides Virtual Tour Services

JAKARTA - Ragunan Wildlife Park, South Jakarta City continues to provide virtual tourism services on weekends, along with the opening of one of the capital's favorite tourist attractions for visitors starting October 13, 2020.

"Virtual is still running, last Sunday (11/10) we also broadcast with sun bears," said Head of the Ragunan Wildlife Park Promotion Unit, Ketut Widarsana, when contacted in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

The following week the virtual tour featured attractions with the Sumatran tiger named Tino and Ratna. Virtual tour show schedule every Sunday at 10.00 WIB.

A number of animals that have appeared such as gibbons, orangutans, crocodiles, giraffes, ostriches, hippos, binturong, pelicans, turtles, anoa, hog deer, bulls, sambar deer and sun bears.

This virtual tour, the public can see the animal attractions of the Ragunan collection in their demonstration cages.

The Ragunan officer will explain the profile of the animal, both its daily habits, type of food, population, and a brief history of the animal's features.

Virtual tourist visitors can interact with animal keepers by asking a few questions through the comments column, then the animal officer will explain them.

"Virtual tourism has lots of comments, lots of responses, lots of people watching too, so it's positive," said Ketut.

Ragunan will continue to maintain virtual tourism during the pandemic period. According to Ketut, virtual tourism becomes people's entertainment from home.

"So it is a good activity even though they can enjoy a virtual holiday at home, they can also know a lot and also become education and understanding about animals," said Ketut.

Meanwhile, after four weeks of being closed since the implementation of the Jakarta PSBB, the first day Ragunan was reopened, the number of visitors was recorded at 95 people, 10 visitors using motorbikes, 27 bicycle users and 25 four-wheeled visitors.

During its opening, the Ragunan management also campaigned for recreational obligations by implementing 3M, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap and maintaining physical distance.

Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR) is an Ex-situ Nature Conservation Institute which has an area of 147 hectares with a collection of 2,288 animals and approximately 50,000 trees, and has a strategic position and is in the southern area of Jakarta City which is very attractive to the public. make recreational visits.

In the last five years, the average number of visitors has reached 5,000,000 people per year. However, the number of visitors to Ragunan this year has decreased due to the closure regulation during the PSBB period.
