The 13-year-old Girl Who Raped In The Mosque Toilet Was Taken To The Ambon Mental Hospital

AMBON - The suspect who raped an underage girl in the bathroom or toilet of one of the Al Musyafa Mosques in Batu Merah Village, Sirimau District, Ambon, Maluku, was taken to a mental hospital or RSJ.

Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Police, IPDA, Moyo Utomo, said that the perpetrator was taken to the RSJ for mental examination.

"While the process is still under investigation because the person concerned always gives various information, including when he mentions his name. Investigators want to take him to the RSJ to find out whether it is true that he has a mental disorder or not," said Moyo at the Ambon Police Headquarters, Thursday 12 May.

He said the perpetrator had been immediately arrested since the incident of the rape of the 13-year-old girl.

“At that time, the Police Quick Reaction (PCR) troops happened to pass in front of the TKP and immediately secured him at the Resort Police. The perpetrators have been detained at the Polresta in Ambon," he said.

The incident was discovered when the mosque guard was about to take a bath to perform the Zuhur prayer. At that location the guards heard a woman's scream from the bathroom on Thursday 5 May.

The mosque guard then intended to report the incident to the Eid Security Post 1443 H in the Ongkoliong area, Batu Merah Village, Sirumau.

However, on the way, the mosque guard met the PRC team from the Ambon and Lease Islands Police who were on patrol. Not long after, PRC officers immediately took the perpetrators and victims into custody to the Ambon Police.

Residents around the mosque who heard the incident were busy waiting for the perpetrators at the front door of the mosque to judge the perpetrators when they were taken out of the bathroom to be taken to the patrol car.

However, the emotional residents were chased away by the authorities to secure the perpetrators from the tantrums of the masses.
