JAKARTA - A teenage tourist who was reported missing drowned after being dragged by the waves at Konang Beach, Trenggalek, East Java, finally found a fisherman. Unfortunately found in a lifeless condition.

The body of the 15-year-old youth from Dongko was detected by fishermen who were on their way home from fishing. His body floated around Gada Island, Kili-kili Beach area, Panggul District, Trenggalek.

Previously, two tourists from the Dongko Trenggalek sub-district were reported to have been swept away by the current while swimming on the beach, Monday (9/5).

One of the victims was rescued by residents and fishermen who were aware of the incident. Meanwhile, one other victim, Indra Wahyu Setiawan (15) was reported missing by the waves.

“Earlier they went with two friends. Then the four of them swam at the location. Two of the victim's friends were already standing or going up first, while two of his friends were still playing in the water and were caught in the waves," he added.

The search for victims after being reported missing continues to be carried out by sending a Basarnas team to search the location. However, the search yielded no results, until around 07.30 WIB the victim was found floating by two fishermen after returning from sea.
