Methamphetamine Circulation In Mataran Dismantled, Seven People Arrested

MATARAM - The police have dismantled a place where methamphetamine was distributed in the Mataram City area, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

The head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Mataram Police, Commissioner I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, in Mataram, Wednesday, May 11, said that the distribution of methamphetamine was uncovered thanks to information from the public.

"Community information points to one of the boarding houses in the Karang Sukun area", said Yogi.

After going through the investigation process in the field, on the evening of Tuesday, May 10, the Satresnarkoba Team of the Mataram Police carried out a raid at the location by arresting seven people, two of them women.

"When the team arrived at the location, some of them were caught red-handed consuming methamphetamine", he said.

The seven people arrested were occupants of the room with the initials LNH (32) and his wife, ZA (30). Then five visitors with the initials IWA (22), AH (26), MU (36), BA (18), and a woman with the initials YN (27).

Evidence of methamphetamine smoking equipment was also secured from their arrest. The boarding house is suspected to be a circulation area which was confirmed by the results of a search.

"From the search results, we found several packages of clear plastic clips containing white crystal powder suspected of having methamphetamine in the glasses case", he said.

Bundles of clear plastic clips were also seized which were suspected to be used to package methamphetamine, transaction money, and cell phones belonging to seven people. the.

From the results of the examination, LNH admitted to the police that he was circulating methamphetamine from the boarding house. "In addition to selling, he (LNH) provides a place for visitors to consume methamphetamine", he said.

Regarding the origin of the illicit goods, Yogi ensured that his party was still carrying out developments in the field.

"There is some information that is the material for our development, that is what we are currently pursuing", said Yogi.

Police have conducted urine tests on seven people. The results of the examination, five of them were positive for methamphetamine and raw materials for methamphetamine.

"For the negative, his wife is LNH and a man from Mataram, initials IWA", he said.

With the results of the examination, he said, now five of the seven people, namely LNH, BA, AH, MU, and YN are undergoing examinations as regulated in Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
