Dare To Promote Arts-Culture Is The Reason Seoul Institute Of The Arts Awarded The Highest Professor Title To Megawati

JAKARTA - Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri received an honorary title, Honorary Chair Professor from the Seoul Institute of The Arts (SIA).

This title was given on Wednesday, May 11, which was awarded at the SIA campus building in Seoul City, South Korea.

SIA President Nam Sik Lee said the title was awarded to the disciplines of Arts Policy and Creative Economy. The reason for giving it is because Megawati has become a courageous leader in shaping Indonesian politics and the state.

"I would like to convey my warm welcome to the Seoul Institute of the Arts. It is an honor to receive Ms. Megawati and her distinguished guests at this humble campus. Furthermore, we are delighted to be conferring on her today the title of Honorary Chair Professor," said Nam Sik. Lee was quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, May 11.

Besides being brave, Nam Sik Lee also said that Megawati is passionate about promoting arts, culture, and the creative economy for the development of peace and democracy as well as improving the quality of life.

"She (Megawati, ed) has been a pioneer in research and innovation and has become a role model for future generations," he said.

In this awarding event, Megawati was present with representatives of party management and her friends. Among them, the General Treasurer of the DPP PDIP Olly Dondokambey with his wife Rita, and the chairman of the DPP PDIP Rokhmin Dahuri. The ranks of the Indonesian Embassy in South Korea were also present, led by Ambassador Gandi Sulistyanto.

For information, the title of honorary professor from SIA is the second for Megawati. In June 2021, Megawati received an honorary professorship from the Defense University in the field of strategic leadership.
