LUWU - Based on a report from the Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of the Luwu Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), dozens of houses have been affected by floods and landslides since May 9, 2022.

Based on information received in Makassar, Wednesday, May 11 Luwu BPBD recorded heavy rains that lasted for a long time in Luwu Regency, causing landslides and flooding at several points in Luwu Regency on Monday and Tuesday 9-10 May 2022.

There are 5 villages from 3 sub-districts affected in Luwu, namely Kadundung Village, Paragusi Village, Latimojong District. Furthermore, there are Bolong Village, Ilan Batu Village in West Walenrang District and Pompengan Tengah Village, Lamasi District.

The landslide and flood disaster resulted in 1 house being heavily damaged, 80 houses being flooded, and 1 motorbike being carried away by the current. For this disaster, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government has prepared logistical assistance for victims affected by landslides and floods in Luwu Regency.

The Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman ensured the fulfillment of logistical assistance from the government for victims affected by this disaster. Through the South Sulawesi BPBD, aid is being brought to the affected locations.
