The man who works as an online taxi driver suffered a number of bruises on his face as a result of being mistreated.

The victim is identified as Owen Susanto Salim (33). Owen said the incident began when he took his passengers from the Police Post on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta to Jalan HM Syafei, Cipinang Muara, East Jakarta.

When he entered the Cipinang Elok II Housing Estate, before the Al-Iman Mosque, the car he was driving collided with a motorbike.

The mouth check took place when the perpetrator who was driving an automatic type motorcycle with number B 4492 TGH suddenly appeared and turned while the victim's car was moving.

Even though the victim had turned on the dimmer as a sign that the car would continue to go straight, the perpetrators ignored this by making a sudden turn.

The victim was shocked and pressed the horn at the perpetrator. However, the perpetrator who rode with his wife and children did not accept it.

"I got out of the car and kept asking, 'why bro?' Then he answered, 'You want to hit my motorbike'," said Owen to reporters at the Jatinegara Police Headquarters, Tuesday, May 10, evening.

According to Owen, he was surprised why the perpetrator was angry. But he didn't hit the motorcycle.

"Even though it didn't hit, it didn't hit, I already apologized, but he insisted, we were separated from the residents," he said.

Apparently, the problem was not over yet, when the victim resumed his journey to deliver passengers to Jalan HM Syafei from Jalan Cipinang Elok II, unexpectedly, the perpetrator, a well-built man, followed the car on his motorbike.

"I went back to HM Syafei, the passenger had already disembarked, he probably dropped his wife and child first, when I came back, in front of the alley HM Syafei was intercepted," said Owen.

Then, at that place the victim apologized again to the perpetrator by inviting him to shake hands, but the victim's hand was twisted instead. At that time, there were residents who intervened again.

When the victim returned to the car to pick up other passengers, the perpetrator continued to chase and his anger broke out at the location around Jalan Cipinang Elok II. Owen's car is again blocked.

Owen admitted that he was punched two to three times in the face. Right cheek area, right eye, and upper nasal bone, bruises.

"The conflict was at Cipinang Elok II Block K, my apology was not accepted, I was beaten in Block K. I was punched 2-3 times, cheek, eye, upper nose bone near forehead, bruises," he said.

The car that Owen was driving had a dent on the right side of the hood.

"After punching me, he punched the hood of my car, I don't know what to do, to scare me like that," he said.

Owen said there were a number of youths at the scene when he was abused, but they just stood there watching him being beaten.

"When I was hit, there were a lot of young people hanging out, they just kept quiet," he said.

After being persecuted, the perpetrator even told Owen to leave immediately. Knowing he was a victim, Owen reported to the Jatinegara Police at around 23.30 WIB.
