Number Of Accidents And Deaths During The 2022 Eid Homecoming In Banten Tend To Decrease Compared To 2021

JAKARTA - After the completion of Operation Ketupat Maung 2022 on Monday 9 May, the Banten Police carried out an evaluation and analysis.

Dirlantas Polda Banten Kombes Budi Mulyanto said the comparison of the number of traffic accidents during the Ketupat Maung operation in 2022 with 2021, decreased by around 3 percent.

"The number of accidents during the 2022 maung operation is 30 cases, which means a 3 percent decrease compared to 2021, which is 31 cases," said Kombes Budi in a statement received by VOI in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 10.

He explained that the number of accident victims tends to decrease. The death toll was 7 people in 2022, down 30 percent when compared to 10 people in 2021.

While the victims of serious injuries due to traffic accidents in 2022 amounted to 6 people, a decrease of 40 percent when compared to 2021, which was 10 people.

"The victim of minor injuries has increased by 58 people in 2022 when compared to only 40 people in 2021, an increase of 45 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, material losses in the implementation of the 2022 ketupat maung operation amounted to Rp. 62 million. This number increased when compared to 2021, which was Rp. 59.9 million or 4 percent.

Budi explained, according to data that the highest number of accidents in the Ketupat Maung 2022 operation was in the Serang Police area, which was 13 incidents, then the lowest was the Lebak Police Station which was safe without any incidents.

"This analysis and evaluation is an input for corrective action in the next operating period, so that every year, the number of traffic accidents can be reduced," he said.
