Two Fishermen Lost Contact In Bintan Waters While Catching Fish

TANJUNGPINANG - Head of the Tanjungpinang Search and Rescue (SAR) Office, Slamet Riyadi, confirmed that two fishermen lost contact while catching fish using wooden boats/pompongs in the waters between Batu Putih and Berakit Bintan, Riau Islands (Kepri).

"The identities of the two fishermen have been lost, namely Saifudin and Rudolfus Roka. They are both residents of Sungai Kecil in Bintan Regency," Slamet said in Tanjungpinang, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 10.

The Tanjungpinang SAR office received reports of the loss of the two fishermen from the village head of Sebong Lagoi Adi, Monday, May 9, around 21.00 WIB.

The chronology of the incident began when the two fishermen set out to catch fish in the Batu Putih waters to Berakit waters, Sunday, May 8, at around 16.00 WIB.

"Until now, both of them have not returned and search efforts have been made by their families and the community, but they have not been found," said Slamet. 1 Sett Rubber Boat to carry out active search operations on the first day, around 21.20 WIB.
