Police Arrested 2 Thieves Of Gas Tubes And Iron Trays In Binjai

MEDAN - The Criminal Investigation Unit Team of the East Binjai Police, North Sumatra, arrested 2 men named UJ (31) and MP (30). Both were arrested after stealing 1 gas cylinder measuring 3 kg and 5 iron bars in 2 different locations.

The Head of Public Relations of the Binjai Police, Iptu Junaidi, said that the two were arrested based on reports of 2 victims on May 7. The theft by the two perpetrators was first carried out at the victim's house on Jalan Wahidin, East Binjai District, Tuesday, April 26.

"At that time, the reporter woke up to prepare for sahur. But at that time, the reporter saw that the contents of the house were in disarray and some items were missing," said Iptu Junaidi, Monday, May 9.

Due to this incident, the victim lost 1 LCD TV, 1 water pump, helmet and 1 3 kg gas cylinder. According to him, the victim suffered a loss of Rp. 3.9 million.

Furthermore, said Iptu Junaidi, the two perpetrators again dismantled one on Jalan Arteeri Hakim, East Binjai District. The incident was first discovered on Friday, May 6, at noon.

At that time, the reporter named Fauzi came to check the condition of his younger brother named Wahyu Ningsih's house which was empty.

"However, when they arrived in the yard, the complainant found that the back door of the house was already open. Then the reporter checked into the house and found 5 window bars and all the electrical installation cables had disappeared," he explained.

"The victim who suffered a loss then reported it to the East Binjai Police," continued Iptu Junaidi.

From the victim's report, the police arrested an alleged perpetrator with the initials UJ who was previously secured by residents.

"Officers led by the Criminal Investigation Unit found the perpetrators of UJ along with the evidence that has been secured by the public," he explained.

Next, the police took UJ to the East Binjai Police Headquarters for further investigation. When questioned by officers, the perpetrator admitted all his actions.

"From the results of the interrogation, further development was carried out. On Saturday, May 7, afternoon, officers managed to secure another perpetrator with the initials MP from his house," he explained.

To account for their actions, the two perpetrators are now being held at the East Binjai Police Headquarters. Both were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code.
