Drunk Papuan Police Member Then Hits DKP Officer And 3 Jayapura Residents Arrested

JAYAPURA - Brigadier Two EN (21), a member of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Papua Police, who reportedly hit the Jayapura City Sanitation and Parks Service (DKP) officer was arrested by the police at his home in the Bucen area, Jayapura.

"It is true that Bripda EN was arrested at around 01.00 WIT," said the Head of Propam for the Papuan Police, Kombes Sanchez Napitupulu, as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 9.

He said Bripda EN, who was driving the car in a drunken state, hit Alwi who was cleaning the roadside in the Jayapura Harbor area.

In addition to crashing and killing the Jayapura City janitor, the perpetrator also hit three pedestrians who were passing by.

Three pedestrians who became victims, namely Dennis Krey, Kilion Fairnap (29), and Neles Fairnap (19).

According to him, Bripda EN, who was drunk after hitting the victim, immediately fled, while his two colleagues EN and YN immediately surrendered at the Jayapura Harbor Police.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (4/5) at around 06.00 WIT when the perpetrators of Bripda EN drove a silver pickup with the police number PA 8067 AI passing from the direction of Jayapura Harbor to Argapura.

The driver suddenly couldn't control the vehicle until it hit the victim Alwi who was cleaning the road until he died on the spot, and then hit three other people.

"Currently, Bripda EN has been handed over to the Jayapura City Police Propam," he said.
