JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has again implemented the odd-even scheme on 13 Jakarta roads, today or Monday, May 9. The implementation of this scheme coincides with the end of the 2022 Eid holiday.

"Along with the national holiday, odd-even in the city applies today," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Monday, May 9.

This odd-even scheme is implemented in two shifts. First in the morning from 06.00 to 10.00 WIB. Then, in the afternoon from 16.00 to 21.00 WIB.

The two odd-even shifts are valid from Monday to Friday. Meanwhile, on national holidays and weekends or Saturdays and Sundays, this scheme does not apply.

The 13 Jakarta roads that apply odd-even implementation include;

1. Sudirman Street2. Jalan MH Thamrin 3. Rasuna Said Street 4. Fatmawati Street5. Jalan Panglima Polim6. Sisingamangaraja Street7. Jalan MT Haryono8. Jalan Gatot Subroto9. Jalan S. Parman10. Jalan Tomang Raya11. Jalan Gunung Sahari12. Jalan DI Panjaitan13. Jalan Ahmad Yani Also, the Korlantas Polri has officially stopped the one-way, odd-even, and contraflow traffic engineering scheme on toll roads during the homecoming and return flow of Eid 2022, on May 9. The reason is that the traffic flow and the number of vehicles on the toll road have returned to normal.

"Analysis and evaluation of the results of observations through digital maps and CCTV as well as reports from members in the field that the traffic flow has decreased and is in its normal daily position," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo

Then, another consideration for ending the three traffic engineering schemes is the safety of the drivers.

If the scheme is still applied, then the vehicle speed will automatically be higher. Thus, the potential for accidents will also increase.

"The vehicle will increase the speed which is possible for an accident that results in fatality of the victim," he said.
