JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organization (PHU) of the Ministry of Religion has released a list of names of prospective regular pilgrims who are entitled to depart in 1443 H/2022 AD. The list of names of prospective pilgrims can be accessed through the www.haji.kemenag.go.id page.

"Alhamdulillah, the process of verifying the list of names for regular hajj pilgrims has been completed. I have issued a decision by the Director General of PHU regarding this," said Director General of PHU at the Ministry of Religion Hilman Latief as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 8.

He added that the list of names had been announced and sent to the Regional Offices of the Provincial Ministry of Religion throughout Indonesia for immediate action.

Hilman said the verification process was carried out to ensure that all departing pilgrims meet the requirements set by Saudi, namely those who are at most 65 years and zero months as of June 30, 2022 and have received the COVID-19 vaccination.

"I ask the pilgrims who have been determined to have the right to leave this year to immediately prepare themselves properly. Don't forget to confirm departure at the bank where they registered," he said.

He added that pilgrims can carry out the confirmation process from May 9-20 2022. Hilman said that Saudi Arabia has set the quota for Indonesia's Hajj in 2022 to only 100,051 people. The number consists of 92,825 quotas for regular pilgrims, 7,226 quotas for special pilgrims, and 1,901 quotas for officers.

Everything is reduced from the normal quota so there are pilgrims who have paid off in 2020 but have not been able to leave in 2022.

"I hope that all of them encourage each other. Congregants who depart give encouragement to those who have not yet departed and pray that they will soon have their turn. Likewise, pilgrims who have not yet departed, encourage those who will depart this year and wish them good health and a Mabrur Hajj," he said.

Regarding the Hajj funds, Hilman said that the funds were no longer managed by the Ministry of Religion, but by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). The Ministry of Religion, he continued, only manages the costs for the current year after being discussed and agreed with Commission VIII and BPKH.

"God willing, the entire process of managing the cost of organizing the pilgrimage is carried out transparently and is aimed at providing the greatest benefit to Indonesian pilgrims," said Hilman.
