JAKARTA - Situ Cipanten, which is located in Gunung Kuning Village, Sindang District, Majalengka Regency, West Java, has become one of the most visited tourist attractions during the Idul Fitri holiday, including during the return flow.

Manager of Situ Cipanten Yosef Hendrawan said the number of tourists could boom three to four times compared to visits on weekdays during Eid.

"The average number of visits on D+1 to D+6 is 2,500 visitors. So if you add up almost 15,000 visitors (to this day)," said Yosef as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 8.

"For normal days, weekdays are usually 100 to 200 (visitors), weekends are 500-700 people (visitors). So the comparison is about three to four times the normal day for this Eid holiday," he continued.

To cope with the significant increase in the number of visitors, the management set a strategy to avoid congestion around the tourist area.

These efforts, said Yosef, include implementing an open and closing system and canalization of car parks about 500 meters from tourist attractions. Thus, only motorcyclists can park their vehicles in the Situ Cipanten parking lot, while tourists who drive cars will be picked up by the tour manager using a special vehicle that has been provided for free.

"So there is no traffic jam even though there are so many visitors," added Yosef.

During the Lebaran holiday season, Situ Cipanten is visited by tourists from various regions. Lola, for example, a tourist from Cirebon who came with her husband.

"Knowing Situ Cipanten from a relative who gave a reference that the place is really good. I also looked on Instagram, because social media is really popular. So it shouldn't be missed," said Lola.
