COVID-19 Update As Of May 7: 218 People Confirmed Positive, Active Cases Down

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 107,591 specimens were examined with the results of 218 people being confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,048,204 people and active cases have fallen by 103 to 6,427 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, May 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 307 cases, bringing the total to 5,885,406 recovered people. Then, there were 14 positive confirmed cases and a total of 156,371 people.

Still referring to data from the Ministry of Health, the province with the highest new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 62 cases. This brings the total to 1,248,242 cases.

West Java followed with 26 new cases. Then, Banten with the addition of 25 cases per day.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases today is DKI Jakarta with the addition of 100 recovered cases.

Then, West Java with an additional 34 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 20 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 23 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens to date has reached 96,102,159.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.36 percent," wrote the Ministry of Health.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 2,227 people.

So far, 199,346,528 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 165,632,168 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 40,990,741 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
