Overflowing, Visitors To Sarangan Magetan Lake Reach 12,928 On D+2 Eid

MAGETAN - The Department of Tourism and Culture of Magetan Regency, East Java, recorded the number of visitors to the Sarangan Lake tourist attraction, Plaosan District on Thursday, May 5 or D+2 Lebaran 2022 reaching 12,928 people.

"According to existing data, as of Thursday (5/5/2022) until 16.30 WIB, the number of visits to the Sarangan Lake tourist attraction reached 12,928 visitors," said Head of the Disparbud Magetan Regency, Joko Trihono, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 6.

According to him, the number of visits on D+3 Lebaran or Friday (6/5) is still high, which is around tens of thousands of people. This is in line with the Eid 2022 holiday until the weekend.

The average number of tourist visits per day during the Lebaran holiday reaches more than 10,000 people, even on D+1 after Lebaran it can reach 15,000 people.

The visit increased significantly compared to normal weekends and during the pandemic. On a normal weekend, the number of tourist visits to Sarangan Lake is only around 2,000-3,000 people. Meanwhile, during a pandemic, it could be even less due to a number of restrictions.

His party stated that the Lebaran holiday is one of the peak seasons for visits to the Sarangan Lake tourist attraction which is the mainstay of the Magetan Regency Government.

Moreover, the government is currently starting to give leeway to the public to travel back and forth and tourism on the momentum of Eid in 2022, while still implementing strict health protocols.

In addition to the Eid holiday, the peak season for visiting Sarangan Lake also occurs during the New Year's Eve holiday.

Joko said, to anticipate the full number of visitors, his party has collaborated with relevant agencies such as the TNI, Polri, and the Department of Transportation to anticipate traffic congestion on the route to Sarangan Lake and the Sarangan-Cemoro Sewu through road.

His party along with other relevant officers also monitored the implementation of health protocols for visitors who traveled, starting from the use of masks, providing facilities for washing hands with soap, and anticipating crowds.

Disparbud Magetan predicts the number of tourist visits at Sarangan Lake is still quite high until this weekend.

An increase in tourist visits was also observed in a number of other tourist attractions in Magetan, such as the Refugia Flower Garden, a sandal and leather shoe sales center on Jalan Sawo, Telaga Wahyu, Mojosemi Forest Park, and others.
