Bus Arrives Late, Homecoming At Bulupitu Terminal Purwokerto Abandoned

BANYUMAS - The accumulation of passengers occurred at the Bulupitu Type A Bus Terminal, Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java on Friday, May 6. The reason is that the bus that the passengers will be carrying is late.

From observations at the Bulupitu Purwokerto Bus Terminal today or D+4 Lebaran 2022, hundreds of prospective passengers seemed to be waiting for the arrival of the bus in a number of waiting rooms and terminal lobbies.

One of the prospective passengers to Jakarta, Edi, admitted that he had been at the terminal since 15.00 WIB because the bus was scheduled to depart at 16.00 WIB.

"But until 18.00 WIB, the bus did not come. Maybe it was stuck in traffic, so it was too late," he said, as reported by Antara.

However, he understands that the bus delay is because many travelers who use motorbikes or private cars take advantage of the return to Jakarta on D+3 this Eid.

The Coordinator of the Bulupitu Type A Bus Terminal Service Unit, Purwokerto, Antonius Bayu Setiawan, admitted that since the last two days there has been an increase in the number of passengers taking advantage of the return flow from the Bulupitu Bus Terminal.

"In terms of fleet availability, it is actually sufficient, only because of travel delays, many buses are late in entering the terminal so there is a kind of accumulation of passengers. So the problem is traffic jams, but vehicles will definitely come, only late," he said.

He estimates that the peak of the return flow at the Bulupitu Bus Terminal in Purwokerto will take place on Saturday 7 May to Sunday 8 May.
