Just Out Of Prison, Recidivists In Bali Steal At 8 Stalls For Gambling And Drunkenness

BANGLI - Resident I Wayan Astawa (42) was arrested by the Bangli Police, Bali, for stealing at 8 stalls. The loot is used for gambling and drunkenness.

"The purpose of the perpetrators of stealing is to fulfill their daily needs and to get drunk in cafes and play gambling," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bangli Police AKP Androyuan Elim, Friday, May 6.

The perpetrator is known to have just left the Kerobokan Bali Prison on February 12, 2022. After that, the perpetrator's 'illness' recurred and then stole at a shop located in Bangkli, Gianyar to Klungkung regencies.

The perpetrator was arrested on the report of the victims. One of the victims reported that the contents of the shop were looted.

"From the results of the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed theft in the Bangli area and the perpetrator admitted that he had committed several thefts in the Bangli, Gianyar and Klungkung areas," added AKP Androyuan.

For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 Paragraph (1) to 3 or 5 of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 65 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.

"This case is being developed because there is still a high possibility that the perpetrators are still carrying out theft at the scene of another case," he said.
