SURAKARTA - The Regional Police (Polda) of Central Java (Central Java) has two alternatives besides the implementation of the one way homecoming flow for three days starting today, Friday, May 6.
The Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, said that the national one-way implementation will be implemented on May 6-8 2022 at 14.00 WIB. One way will be implemented starting from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) to the Cikampek Toll Exit.
"The implementation of the one-way will start on Friday (May 6) afternoon, starting from the Kalikangkung Toll Road to KM 47 Cikampek. The activity will be opened by the Minister of Transportation and the Head of Traffic and Trafficking," said the Central Java Police Chief in a written statement received Thursday, May 6, evening.
According to Ahmad Luthfi, based on observations for the past few days, the traffic flow in Kalikangkung has reached 68 thousand vehicles per day. For this reason, traffic engineering efforts are needed to avoid traffic jams on toll roads.
"We (Central Java Police) are also conducting an evaluation. If the density of vehicles is getting higher, we will prepare two alternative solutions to facilitate the flow of vehicles on toll roads," explained Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi.
The two solutions in question are implementing a local one way starting from the Bawen Toll Gate to Kalikangkung and implementing a flow diversion from the Sragen to Bawen toll gate.
"If the congestion occurs before Kalikangkung, then we apply a local one way starting from Bawen to Kalikangkung. If the solution still doesn't solve the problem, then we will divert the outflow of toll roads from Sragen to Bawen," he added.
However, if the national one-way runs smoothly, the two solutions will not be implemented.
"So it is situational in nature and we will examine it first to apply it," explained the Kapolda.
Regarding the traffic density during the 2022 Eid homecoming in Central Java, the Central Java Police Chief stated that there was no traffic jam in Central Java.
"There is only current density. But there is absolutely no traffic jam," he explained.
