The Advantages Of The Planetarium Of UIN Walisongo So That It Becomes The Location Of Rukyatul Hilal: Equipped With Digistar 6

JAKARTA - The Planetarium and Observatory of UIN Walisongo became one of the locations for Rukyatul Hilal, both during the determination of the beginning of Ramadan and Shawwal 1443 H.

The Head of the Public Relations, Data and Information Bureau (HDI) of the Ministry of Religion, Akhmad Fauzin, explained the advantages of the planetarium at UIN Walisongo.

"This is the first State Islamic Religious University (PTKIN) planetary in Indonesia," said Fauzin in Semarang, Wednesday, May 4, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Religion.

"This planetarium is equipped with the best digital technology or digistar 6," he continued.

The planetarium of UIN Walisongo is also the third largest university planetarium in the world with a diameter of 18m. This building already uses a digital projector with 4K quality and a screen dome using nanosame technology.

"The surround sound quality has also been 4.0 dolby surround with a seating capacity of 190 people," he explained.

"This building simultaneously combines the functions of an observatory and a planetarium," he continued.

The previous appreciation was also conveyed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas when he visited this building on September 26, 2021.

"This is extraordinary. I was amazed when I entered this room. Especially after watching several educational shows," said Minister of Religion Yaqut at the time.

GusMen, as he is known, has even encouraged and supported the improvement of the Planetarium and Observatory of UIN Walisongo as a place of education as well as a tourist destination. Therefore, GusMen asked for the building to be more fully prepared and not in a hurry to be inaugurated.

The same thing was conveyed by the Chancellor of UIN Walisongo Semarang, Imam Taufiq. At that time, Imam Taufiq reported to the Minister of Religion that the Planetarium and Observatory building of UIN Walisongo was the only planetarium in the world of education and the largest at PTKIN.
