JAKARTA - The National Police have prepared steps to prevent traffic congestion on the return flow of Lebaran this year. A one-way backflow scheme will be implemented.
This step is taken to maintain the security, safety and comfort of the community when traveling overseas after returning home.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, said that there were seven steps being implemented. The first is to do traffic engineering in the form of a one-way or one-way system.
"First, the application of traffic engineering in the form of a one-way system starting from KM 414 or Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate," said Dedi in a written statement, Wednesday, May 4.
It is planned that the implementation of the one-way system will be carried out on GT Kalinkangkung KM 414 to Cikampek Toll Road KM 47 from Friday, May 6 from 14.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB. However, this depends on the level of traffic density.
In addition, this one way system will be continued with the application of contra flow up to the KM 28.5 Cikampek Toll Road.
"Traffic Engineering also applies and is situational at the peak of the flow which is predicted on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, 2022," said Dedi.
The second step, the National Police will also socialize alternative routes to Bandung from Jakarta during the implementation of one way. Here is the route prepared:
Jagorawi – Puncak – Cisarua – Cipanas – Cianjur – Sukaluyu – Cipatat – Padalarang – Bandung. Jagorawi – Cibubur – Cileungsi – Jonggol – Cianjur – Padalarang – Bandung. Kalimalang – Kedung Waringin – Karawang – Purwakarta – Wanayasa – Lembang – Bandung. Kalimalang – Kedung Waringin – Karawang – Purwakarta – Sukatani – Darangdan – Cikalong – Padalarang – Bandung. Jagorawi – Sukabumi – Cianjur – Padalarang – Bandung.Furthermore, the public is asked to use alternative routes and not wait for the completion of the one-way system. The goal is to avoid overcrowding.
The fourth step, the National Police with relevant stakeholders implement rest area management, namely the Rest Area Management System (RAMS) to inform drivers of parking capacity before entering the rest area.
"Fifth, urge the public not to stop at the shoulder of the road if they cannot rest in the rest area. It is hoped that they can take advantage of the rest area in the nearest city by exiting first at the nearest toll gate," said Dedi.
Sixth, is related to guaranteeing the availability of fuel oil, workshops and other facilities to help the community when experiencing problems with their vehicles.
"Ensuring the availability of fuel, modular or pertashop fuel, motorist fuel, motorist workshops, top up services, service posts, electricity supply," said Dedi.
Finally, Dedi said that the minimization of obstacles on alternative routes will be carried out. The goal is that road capacity can be used optimally by the volume of vehicles diverted to alternative road sections.
