Kemenhub: Peak Homecoming Flow Occurs On D-2 Lebaran

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that based on temporary data collected from the Integrated Lebaran Transport Command Post from 2022 to Monday, the highest peak of movement of public transport passengers in this year's homecoming flow occurred on Saturday (30/4) or D-2, with a total of 952,210. passenger.

"On Sunday or D-1 yesterday, there was still an increase in passenger movements compared to normal days, but the number was not as much as in the previous D-3 and D-2," said Transportation Ministry Spokesperson Adita Irawati in a statement quoted by Antara, Monday, 2 May.

Adita revealed that the monitoring of the movement of homecoming passengers this year was carried out at 111 bus terminals, 16 ferry ports, 51 airports, 110 sea ports, and 13 Daop/Divre.

In detail the data on the number of passenger movements in all modes of transportation per day, on D-7 as many as 527,987 passengers, D-6 as many as 570,860 passengers, D-5 as many as 685,907 passengers, D-4 as many as 845,706 passengers, D-3 as many as 932,468 passengers, D -2 as many as 952,210 passengers and D-1 yesterday as many as 656,454 passengers.

When viewed from the data for each mode of transportation, the peak of passenger movement that occurred on D-2, occurred in the crossing mode of transportation as many as 330,335 passengers, then road transportation (buses) as many as 181.321 passengers, rail transportation as many as 135,170 passengers, and sea transportation as many as 97,593 passengers.

"Meanwhile, for air transportation, the peak of passenger movement occurred on D-3 as many as 217,920 passengers," he said.

Temporary data on the movement of passengers in each mode of transportation on Sunday (1/5) or D-1, still showed an increase compared to normal days (16 April 2022), namely road transportation (bus transportation), the realization of the number of passengers on D-Day. 1 in 2022 of 121,250 passengers, or an increase of 91 percent when compared to a normal day of 63,338 passengers.

In rail transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-1 in 2022 was 112,527 passengers, or an increase of 132.6 percent when compared to a normal day of 48,372 passengers. Air transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-1 in 2022 was 190,559 passengers, or an increase of 81 percent when compared to a normal day of 105,101 passengers.

For sea transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-1 in 2022 was 55,619 passengers, or an increase of 177 percent when compared to a normal day of 20,064 passengers. In ferry transportation, the realization of the number of passengers on D-1 in 2022 was 176,499 passengers, or an increase of 173 percent when compared to a normal day of 64,631 passengers.

Adita conveyed that the cumulative number of passenger movements in each mode was monitored for 7 days starting Monday (25/4)/H-7 to Sunday (1/5)/D-1 yesterday, crossing transportation is still the highest, which is 1,601. 515 passengers. With the busiest departure passenger movements in the 5 busiest ferry ports, namely Merak, Gilimanuk, Bakauheni, Ketapang, and Kayangan, East Lombok.

Then, air transportation as many as 1,335,024 passengers. With the busiest departure passenger movements at 5 (five) airports, namely: Soekarno Hatta, Sultan Hasanuddin (Makassar), Juanda (Surabaya), Ngurah Rai (Bali) and Sepinggan (Balikpapan).

Road transportation (buses) as many as 989,384 passengers. With the busiest departure passenger movements in 5 terminals, namely Kertonegoro Ngawi, Ir. Soekarno (Klaten), Purboyo (Surabaya), Giwangan (Yogyakarta), and Tirtonadi (Solo). Train transportation as many as 744,983 passengers. With the densest passenger movements in 5 Operational Areas (Daop), namely Daop I Jakarta, Daop VIII Surabaya, Daop VI Yogyakarta, Daop II Bandung, and Daop IV Semarang.

Sea transportation as many as 517,873 passengers. With the busiest departure passenger movements in 5 ports, namely Gilimanuk, Batam, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Tanjung Pinang, and Balikpapan.

In total, the cumulative number of passengers in all modes of transportation cumulatively from Monday (25/4)/H-7 to Sunday (1/5) or D-1 yesterday, has reached 5,188,779 passengers.

This number is still smaller with a ratio of 7 percent, when compared to the cumulative passenger movement in the same period in 2019 of 5,576,540 passengers.

"However, this year's cumulative data is still temporary and it is possible to continue to move up," Adita concluded.
