Jokowi's Satisfaction Level Declines, PKB: A Bad Sign For Political Stability

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the PKB Jazilul Fawaid responded to the results of the Indonesian Political Indicators survey which showed that the level of satisfaction with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had decreased. This condition is called a bad sign for political stability in the future.

"This is a bad sign for future political stability," said Jazilul, Thursday, April 28.

Jazilul then alluded to slander and false news or hoaxes which later reduced public confidence in President Jokowi.

"This means that slander, hoaxes, and opinions have succeeded in reducing confidence in the government's performance. Economic growth has lost to the development of netizens' tirades," he said.

However, the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR assessed that the performance of the Jokowi government was quite stable. In fact, said Jazilul, the government has been able to handle economic problems in the COVID-19 pandemic situation compared to other countries in Asia.

According to him, the public's assessment is highly dependent on the image and perception of the elites who work in the government.

"The Jokowi government's performance is stable and able to handle economic turmoil compared to other countries in Asia in the COVID situation," said Jazilul.

Previously, the Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said the level of public satisfaction with the government's performance in April stood at 59.9 percent. This result decreased sharply when compared to January 2022, amounting to 75.3 percent.

"In April 14 to April 19, if we are satisfied or very satisfied (with President Jokowi's performance) if we total 59.9 percent, those who are less satisfied are 38.6 percent. So more are satisfied," said Burhanuddin in an online survey presentation. , Tuesday, April 26.
